He spent much of his sermon talking about prophecy!

Billy Graham mentioned that as far as he could tell, all the signs that Christ said would happen before His return are going on right now! He also mentioned the situation in the Middle East (among other Bible prophecy topics) and said that he doesn't see anything that could delay the return of Jesus.

Billy Graham is one of the greatest evangelists who has ever lived. He has probably reached more people with the Gospel and brought more people to Christ than any other person in history! He is a great man of God and millions upon millions of people will now spend eternity in heaven because of the hard work and dedication of this man.

Billy Graham certainly needs our prayer now more than ever as his health has deteriorated.

God's Promises To You

In part 1 of this 2-part series, I began talking about the promises of prophecy and God's promises to us. If you haven't had a chance to read it, I highly recommend reading it first at:

I talked about how the First Coming of Christ was predicted in advance. Someone living during the time when Jesus walked the earth could have recognized Him if they knew the Word. Yet many rejected Him as the Son of God.

Even today many people deny the truth about prophecy, believing that Jesus will not return. They couldn't be more wrong. We're looking forward to the SOON coming of Jesus Christ and the Rapture, the snatching away of God's children before the Tribulation period.

These are all promises from God!

And when God makes a promise we are guaranteed that it will come to pass!

God's Promise of Prophecy

There are so many other prophecies that are guaranteed to happen just because God said so. The promise of prophecy gives us hope for the future, which in turn, helps us to live a better life now. But God's promises are not limited to prophecies and future events only, but they apply to our regular, daily lives as well.

God has promised that if we follow Him and obey His Will, He will bless us. Jesus has promised that He would never leave us or forsake us. As Christians, we have Christ's incredible guarantee that He's living inside of us -- we also know that He won't ever leave. Thank God for that!

Don't ever believe that God is not with you... if you ever have this doubt just say this verse out loud:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38,39 NIV)

God Wants To Bless You

God wants to bless us right now, not just when we get to heaven. He wants us to live a life full of joy and peace. He wants us to experience an abundant life... not a life full of misery!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

If you think God wants all the "unbelievers" to get the good stuff, you are sadly mistaken. After all, we're God's children; so what kind of good father would not want to bless and take care of His child? (Luke 11:11-13)

    
The Bible Is The Solution

The promises of God run throughout the Bible. Every prophecy is a promise from God, history written in advance. But, as I mentioned above, God also made many promises other than prophecy that apply to our daily life.

For example, the Bible says we do not need to fear anything man can throw at us. Why? God is with us, and that's a promise sealed from heaven. No matter what happens, no matter where we are… we can be at peace knowing the Lord is there with us:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. (Isaiah 43:2 AMP)

People struggle every day with many different problems but did you know that the Bible addresses the issues you face right now?

Some people think the Bible is meant just for people in the "old times" and not for this modern world -- this is untrue. The Bible is still current and up-to-date for our day and age. What's written in God's Holy Word applies to each of our lives.

Receiving God's Blessing

The Bible clearly says that God wants us to be blessed and He wants to provide for us. But you ask, how? To some of you this may be a new concept… but according to the Bible, the way to be blessed by God is to give! I'm not talking just about money but any type of giving.

Through giving to other people YOU will be blessed.

If you have "time" to give, you could volunteer for a Christian charity. Maybe you could give away items to the needy or get involved with a Christian group that helps the homeless. These are just few suggestions -- there are so many other ways you can help people through giving.

The Bible says:

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38 NIV)

Daily Struggle And God's Promise

But when is there time to give? People's lives today are so busy that they don't have the time to bless other people. Many people don't even take the time to enjoy they're own life, let alone have the time to make someone else's life better.

This is not the way God wants us to live our life. He wants you to enjoy your life and He wants you to love others and give generously to help people!

The Bible says:

"...to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one's fellowmen, meeting all its requirements]." (Romans 13:8 AMP)

Experience An Abundant Life

As I mentioned above, this truth from the Bible applies to more than just money. If you want friends, you need to be a good friend to someone else. If you want people to treat you well, you guessed it, you need to show love to others.

This truth applies to so many areas of your life.

God wants us to experience peace, joy, and an abundant life and one powerful way to receive these blessings is through giving.

God Always Keeps His Promise

A promise from God is not like a promise from one person to another. God ALWAYS keeps His promises, guaranteed.

The Bible says that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. This is the greatest promise of all. Through Christ we can have eternal life in heaven with our precious Savior. The Bible says...

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20 NKJV)

What a wonderful promise! We serve a loving, forgiving, and kind God who loves us more than we can ever imagine. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
