The Bible says that there will be a horrible time in history worse then anything we could imagine. As you may already know, this is pictured vividly in the Book of Revelation. Many people believe that the Book of Revelation is just too difficult to understand. Yet, it can be understood, and our future can be known by reading it. This is not the only book of the Bible that talks about the future, though, it is the most comprehensive. In fact, you can find prophecy in nearly every book of the Bible. Amazingly, prophecies from these books and the Book of Revelation are for the world in which we live today. How do I know this? Prophecies from the Bible are being fulfilled at an alarming rate, right before our very eyes. The Bible predicts the events of the world in which we live. For example... September 11, 2001 So what does September 11 have to do with Bible prophecy? Simple. The Bible predicts that in the last days there will be terrorism. This is actually one of the very last signs predicted before the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! All the signs that must happen before He returns to earth have already been fulfilled or are in the process of being fulfilled. The Bible is always so accurate. Jesus prophesied that there would be violence throughout the world in the end times. Isn’t this the world in which we live? So what does terrorism and violence from around the world have to do with us? Even the United States now has to worry about this problem. People many times are afraid of what might happen, but the Bible says that you have no reason to fear. As explained so eloquently in 2nd Timothy 1:7 “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Though there are terrible things happening around the world we don’t have to ever be afraid. When we hear about terrorism, threats, earthquakes, disease, crime, natural disasters, AIDS, and all others, we can still smile. Why? Here’s why as explained by Jesus himself in Luke 21:31 “So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” When we see all these things we know the return of Jesus Christ is near! But how
near? And is it even possible to know how close we are to this monumental event? Does the Bible give us clues? Of course, the answer is yes.
